The first one is praising effort alone. Next, telling kid to try harder is like hollow praises of effort. Instead of nagging the student, teacher should sit down and together find out what she or he hasn't done right. The last one is repeating mindset jargon. Dweck says that many teachers must change how they teach, offering more critical feedback and giving students opportunities to revise their work.
